Syracuse football recruiting: 2017 linebacker Kadeem Trotter commits to SU

Class of 2017 linebacker Kadeem Trotter committed to Syracuse on Sunday at noon, he announced via a Scout.com video on Twitter.

The Canton McKinley (Ohio) High School prospect is the Orange’s third addition in the last 24 hours, joining defensive back Ifeatu Melifonwu and linebacker Keirston Johnson. The 6-foot-3, 195-pound Trotter is rated three stars by Scout.com and Rivals.com and two stars by 247Sports.com’s composite ranking.

He runs a 4.61 40-yard dash, according to Scout. He’s the third linebacker in his class to join the Orange, joining Johnson and Canadian linebacker Tyrell Richards.

Trotter, who sat out most of his junior season due to injury, made an unofficial visit to Syracuse University in June. He is SU’s 13th class of 2017 commit and the fourth defensive player. He drew interest from SU conference foes Pittsburgh and Boston College and held offers from Kent State, Ohio and Toledo, among others.
